March 10 – Pruning Workshop from 10-12:00

Sharpen your pruners and grab your gloves for the March Pruning Workshop to be held on Saturday, March 10, at Nancy Jone’s garden in Bellevue from 10-12 PM. This is the perfect opportunity for new members to learn how to prune roses from experienced rosarians.

March 4 – Rose Gardening Products

The March monthly meeting will include a discussion on rose gardening products in preparation for Vendor Night on Tuesday, April 3.

Five of NRS Consulting Rosarians will be speaking:
* Ron Daniels – Soil, water systems & pH meters
* Gene Meyer – Selecting roses, where to buy roses and how to use the ARS Selecting Roses Handbook
* Jack Wedekind – Fertilizers, both organic and granular
* Marty Reich – Disease and insect control products, both synthetics and organics
* Larry Baird – Rose gardening tools, including pruners, loppers, gloves, and types of sprayers; how to use each tool and where to buy

March 1-4 -Nashville Lawn & Garden Show

Tennessee’s largest and most popular gardening event returns at The Fairgrounds Nashville! and once again, the Nashville Rose Society will have a booth manned by Society members. No experience is necessary, you just need to talk to people about roses. Cindy Worch will have sign-up sheets at the February meeting.

February 24 – Pruning Workshop from 10-12:00

It is time to start planning to prune the roses for their new spring growth. The first Pruning Workshop will be held on Saturday, February 24, at Lynda and Gordon McClellan’s garden near Opryland from 10-12 PM. New members will have a chance to have hands-on experience with trimming roses by learning from experienced rosarians.
